There are some weddings that really stand out. Sometimes it’s the incredible location, or a couple you just click with. Occasionally it’s shooting a pinterest dream wedding. In the case of Gemma & James’ wedding at Hengrave Hall, it’s all of the above. Yes, their wedding was a pinterest dream!
You may recognise Gemma & James from a previous post we shared. Not long ago we posted some photographs from their engagement shoot. You can find that here if you missed it. If you did happen to see the post, you’ll already know how much fun we had with these two (and Apollo!). Their wedding day was no different and far exceeded any expectations we had for the day.
Hengrave Hall or Italy?
When we arrived, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Already a good start we thought!! If you’ve ever visited Hengrave Hall you’ll know that you’re blown away before you even arrive. The long driveway entrance into the venue is exceptional. It’s easy to see how and why couples fall in love with the place. It’d definitely be a difficult venue to walk away from. There aren’t many that offer such a “wow” experience before you’ve even arrived.
It was clear as soon as we walked in too that not a single detail had been overlooked. Everything had been carefully considered and meticulously planned. The thought and attention to detail really shone through. Not only did everything look stylish, but Gemma & James’ personalities and personal tastes shone through too. That’s always such a lovely thing to see. The fact that Gemma had even had a hand in the design of the bridesmaid dresses for example gave the wedding such a warm, personal feel.
Hengrave Hall is a stunning venue in itself, but yesterday it really felt like we were a million miles away from anything. The courtyard setting for the meal paired with the gorgeous olive trees and lovely weather gave the feel of a “destination wedding”. You could have quite easily believed that you at a wedding in an Italian castle out in that courtyard. It was beautiful.
Below you’ll find just a small selection of photographs that we took yesterday, for Gemma & James to enjoy before they whizz off on their honeymoon. We hope you like the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them.
As always comments for us or the newlyweds are always welcome at the end of this post. We cannot wait to share more from this fantastic day soon.
